Hello My Fellow Gardening Queens!
I hope you are in the midst of change to fall gardening. I would love to see how you’re making that transition and what you are planting. Post your photos so your sisters can glean ideas from and cheer you on for what you may be doing.
In this SEASON OF CHANGE,
I’m excited to announce that Black Girls Garden is doing the same, making some changes. As you know, our group has grown to over 80,000 members from all over the world. whike it's a labor of love, this is no minor administrative task. The goal of the group is to offer at least one college scholarship yearly to an African-American female in an agricultural field of study. In addition, we would like to offer grants for community gardens. So, effective August 1, 2023, a one-time non-refundable fee of $5 to join the Black Girls Garden™️ group was implemented for new members. These funds and those from the purchase of BBG merchandise on the website help to support the stated goals, assist with the administration of, and further increase the impact of Black Girls Garden™️. If you believe in what we’re doing or have benefited from being a part of the Black Girls Garden “Movement”, you may contribute as well. Yes, I said a MOVEMENT. That’s what we are! But, there’s more! We know there are CHANGES or new things coming out what seems daily in almost everything we do. And, the same is true for gardening, too. So, GET READY, GET READY, GET READY! We are planning our Inaugural BLACK GIRLS GARDEN™️ CONFERENCE for 2024!!! We want this to be a time of fun, fellowship, learning and sharing. I’m bursting with excitement about the future of our magnificent group, Black Girls Garden™️! Oh, we have some new shirt designs in the store on the website. Check them out and continue to post your photos in them. I could go on and on. But that’s enough for now.
